Move a document

You can move an iA Writer for Mac document to a different storage location, including to iCloud. Documents stored in iCloud are automatically synced with all of your connected iCloud devices.

Open iA Writer

To use iCloud, first configure the iCloud Documents & Data service:

In OS X 10.8+:

Move using the File menu:
  1. In iA Writer, choose File Move To….
  2. Select a location to move the document to.
Move using a document’s Title bar:
  1. In iA Writer, place the pointer to the right of the document’s name in the Title bar, and click the arrow.
  2. Choose Move To… in the menu.
  3. Select a location to move the document to.
Move using iA Writer’s Open and Save dialogs:
You can also move a document by dragging it out of, or into, an Open or Save dialog.

In OS X 10.7:

OS X Lion offers only basic support for iCloud. To move a document to iCloud:

  1. In iA Writer, choose File Save….
  2. Save the document to your computer’s hard disk (for example, in the Documents folder).
  3. Once your document is saved locally, choose File iCloud… Move to iCloud.

To move a document otherwise please use the Finder.
